We’re thrilled to announce that Credera was named a 2023 PEOPLE Companies that Care finalist by a partnership between PEOPLE magazine and Great Place to Work. In the award’s inaugural year, Credera was ranked in the top 100 U.S. companies “that have succeeded in business while also demonstrating outstanding respect, care, and concern for their employees, their communities, and the environment.”
“We truly hold one of our top core values as 'people first' and are intentional in finding ways to support our people,” said Credera’s Global Chief People Officer Andrew Warden. “This extends to not only our employees but also our clients, surrounding communities, and our global environment.”
How Credera cares
Credera’s mission is to make an extraordinary impact on our clients, our people, and our communities. This mission extends to caring for our environment, too. Here are some examples from the past year:
Our people: Credera now hosts 10 global employee resource groups (ERGs) and three formalized mentorship programs to care for our employees, most recently adding CredAbility (supporting those with visible or invisible disabilities), Credera Thrive (supporting mental, physical, and social well-being), and Credera Veteran’s Network (supporting veterans of the armed forces).
Our market leaders also actively foster connection among our people, overseeing people-focused committees in each office. These groups plan fun events both in and out of the office and celebrate personal and professional employee milestones. A “Care” subcommittee is also in the process of hosting focus groups to intentionally listen to, know, and better care for our people.
Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee also initiates firm-wide activities to promote diverse perspectives, attract and retain talent, and foster belonging. Last year, in our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Wellbeing Annual Report, we noted that 92% of women and 93% of people of color at Credera feel they can be themselves at work, and 94% of employees feel that everyone is treated with respect.
Our community: Credera seeks to serve our local communities in various ways throughout the year.Credera Community Impact (CCI) is Credera’s philanthropic arm focused on positively impacting the communities we serve by providing STEM education awareness and opportunities. Last summer, CCI piloted a new pro bono consulting program, which grew into a nationwide initiative we call our Nonprofit Consulting Leadership Program (NCLP). Through these short-term, end-to-end client engagements, our consultants assist local nonprofit organizations with reaching their goals and solve problems for which they may lack the internal or financial resources.
Credera also hosts an annual company-wide "Service Day" each April, encouraging all employees to serve local organizations together, and each market shares additional local opportunities year-round to give back wherever we live and work.
Our environment: This past year Credera greatly increased our client engagements to measurably support their sustainability work. In tandem, Credera established four new environmental sustainability service offerings: environmental data architecture, green technology, climate strategy, and green innovation. We help clients understand climate risks material to their operations and manage their environmental impacts such as greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, biodiversity, and resource use.
Our sustainability committee informs and advocates for the most effective and environmentally sustainable ways to operate our own offices and global business. From waste minimization and proactive energy management, to efficient use of space and smart commuting and travel, to awareness-building by hosting “Green Week” challenges, events, and discussions—CredClimate continues to implement new initiatives to care for the environment.
About PEOPLE Companies that Care
Great Place to Work determines their finalists using their proprietary survey and methodology. This year, 1.1 million survey responses were received from employees at companies eligible for the PEOPLE Companies that Care list.
The Great Place to Work survey evaluates employees’ confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s culture and impact on its community, with 60 statements scored on a five-point scale and two open-ended questions. For the PEOPLE Companies that Care list, companies also answer questions about charitable giving, employee benefits, and how they have gone above-and-beyond to take care of their people, environment, and community in the last year.
Rankings reflect employee survey results and companies’ short answers, as well as the generosity of each organization's benefits and philanthropic and community support, focusing on activities occurring in the last year.
