Lack of a consolidated database and licensing regime for electrical line workers.

The independent safety regulator needed to meet the energy regulatory requirements set out by the Victorian government while creating a smooth, modern platform that addressed two major challenges:

1. Lack of a licensing regime for electrical line workers

2. Lack of a consolidated database of electrical line workers

The Solution

A cost-cutting, unified solution that provided critical insights and data across the organization.

We used Pega technologies to design a solution for the client that not only fulfilled a licensing regime, but also helped promote safety at the workplace and in the community as a whole.

Because of our expedited delivery of the project, the client’s licensing team was able to complete assessments of 25% of worker applications ahead of the original schedule. In addition, our solution cut down costs by using Pega Web Mashup to enable streamlined, online web application lodgment.

The Results

Streamlined application processing, license issuing, and website performance.

As a result of our partnership, the bank saw the following:

• Received and processed over 2,500 online line worker applications in production within one month of project go-live

• Onboarded registered line workers through a platform that provided access to self-service functions and new application lodgment

• Simplified application processing for both internal and external parties

• Fulfilled the business objective of issuing license to all the existing line workers working on-field

• Set up a bulk-upload process for the wider electricity industry

• Reduced costs by enabling easy-to-use web forms
