Bill Gates once said, “As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.” In everything we do at Credera, we seek to empower our clients and our teammates. Being at Credera has opened up opportunities for me to lead. For example, I am responsible for the Integration and Data Services Lunch ‘n Learn initiative. I also serve on the Credera Women’s Network leadership team. By being part of these two great initiatives, I find myself participating in galvanizing moments that not only shape the hearts and minds of my coworkers, but also help move them forward.
Lunch ‘n Learn
Once a month, we get together for a Lunch ‘n Learn session to focus on developing a leadership or technical skill. The leadership skill sessions are typically led by a guest speaker while our technical Lunch ‘n Learns are led internally. The sessions are intended to build community and foster learning and growth. They are much more than a monthly perk we look forward to. They are an important statement about how we value learning together and developing leadership in others. Our Lunch ‘n Learns focus on one of the most important aspects of Credera: empowering its people and moving them forward. We have covered several topics during the Lunch ‘n Learns over the last year. Some of our most memorable lunches featured inspiring guest speakers and engaging activities where we learned how to improve our listening and communication skills, how to develop career road maps with a cognitive flair, and how to improve our decision making skills.
Credera Women’s Network
I am proud to serve as a member of the Credera Women’s Network (CWN) leadership team. The CWN is a women’s initiative that provides mentoring and professional development events for the women of Credera. The CWN supports the development of leadership skills and provides insight into career advancement. The CWN also drives employee engagement by helping employees develop stronger relationships with their peers. Last year, we discovered our strengths, grew our emotional intelligence, and learned from a panel of female executives. In 2017, we decided to expand to include events focused on developing women leaders, such as book clubs and networking events with women in other leading companies.
As I look ahead into the next chapter of my career at Credera, I see myself even more involved in exciting and empowering leadership initiatives that help move my fellow Credera teammates forward.
