Credera selected by DWP to support data warehouse migration to the cloud

LONDON, November 3, 2026 — Credera, Omnicom’s transformation consultancy, has been awarded a £6.07 million contract by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to support its Data Warehouse Route to Cloud programme.

The two-year engagement will support the design, development and deployment of an alpha data platform, followed by the migration of data through beta and into live service. Credera will also help DWP oversee the decommissioning of its existing on-premises data warehouse infrastructure.

Modernising DWP’s data platform

The programme will establish the technical foundations for a new cloud-based platform and support the migration of approximately 150 TB of data.

Delivery will align with DWP’s governance standards, including its Digital Design Authority and Red Lines Assessment, with close collaboration across DWP Digital and wider business teams.

Credera will provide ongoing support to DWP colleagues throughout the transformation, with a focus on knowledge transfer, operational readiness and a smooth transition from legacy infrastructure to a cloud-native data warehousing estate.

Modernising DWP’s data infrastructure is intended to make trusted data easier to access and use, while improving scalability, resilience and cost management. The new platform will give DWP a stronger foundation for insight and decision-making, helping teams adapt services over time while minimising disruption during the transition.
