Launching CrederaThrive: Credera’s Newest Employee Resource Group Focused on Mental Health and Well-Being

Over the past two years, we’ve all seen the importance of mental health grow as we’ve adjusted our personal and professional lives to a hybrid world. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the working world learned to balance our professional lives with children playing and learning in the background. We became comfortable with our dogs barking during presentations and seeing our friends via a computer screen. Many of us were forced to adjust to the isolation and fear brought on by a pandemic. These circumstances forever changed the way we handle mental health issues.

Launching CrederaThrive

Mental health has often been a taboo topic in the workplace, but Credera is changing the conversation and working to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues in the workplace through the launch of CrederaThrive. In late 2021, Credera U.S. launched CrederaThrive, a mental health employee resource group (ERG) aimed to serve our people by promoting health, happiness, and wellness. CrederaThrive creates support initiatives that focus on mental health and well-being awareness, as well as education and support for employees dealing with mental health issues, all while promoting diversity and inclusion.

A Look Into CrederaThrive’s Initiatives

To kickoff the new ERG, CrederaThrive hosted a wellness panel with several Credera employees from both the U.S. and UK to share their own experiences dealing with mental health. Moderated by Taylor Marley, we heard from Cristina Niver, Bria Ford, Joshua Grear, and John Kendrick on their wellness journeys, combatting the stigma surrounding mental health, and how to navigate these conversations in the workplace.

Over the past several months, Credera has provided multiple opportunities to promote education and awareness to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health in the workplace. In addition, CrederaThrive has sponsored Mental Health Awareness Month, World Mental Health Day, and is continuously offering various initiatives to support wellness and stress reduction during the workday, such as mindfulness calendar reminders, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) seminars, and scheduled breaks away from the computer screen.

Team members also have access to free, confidential help if needed through our EAP. Credera staff can also find help with mental health issues through our standard healthcare plan that includes mental health coverage.

Flexible Connection at Credera

At Credera, our Flexible Connection model is another important well-being initiative that focuses on balancing flexibility for our people, building meaningful connections, and delivering exceptional client service. We want our team members to feel supported by having a powerful sense of work-life integration and balance.

Looking Forward

Moving forward, the CrederaThrive Leadership Team is excited to develop a Mental Health First Aiders program to support employees in need of mental health assistance. The First Aiders will be a group of Credera volunteers that have been trained to respond to mental health concerns, provide support, and help employees understand what resources are available to them. While the Mental Health First Aiders are not a replacement for professional help, this program will accommodate those looking for a safe and confidential outlet to address any mental wellness concerns in real time.

Colleagues also have access to our Employee Assistance Program, where free, confidential help can be sought if needed, and we also offer Private Health Care as standard.

Credera is committed to continuing to create a workplace culture that promotes and supports the health and well-being of all staff. Our aim is to support the health and wellbeing of our people, both physically and mentally, to enable them to be the best possible version of themselves.

We’re excited to live out our mission to make an extraordinary impact on each other, our clients, and our communities through CrederaThrive.
